BECOMING A CHRISTIAN

As a survivor of any type of abuse, the last place you may want to turn to for comfort or support may be God or His kids. I know this first hand. But one thing that I have learned over my years of struggle is that God is not always like all of His kids! He is my comfortor. He's always there to talk to, to cry to, to yell at, to tell Him how much I wish He would have let me die instead of splitting, etc. For me, God is my everything. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Him getting me through the every day depression. At some point there will be the promised joy. If you are not a born again Christian-it's as easy as A-B-C! All you have to do is:

A. Admit you are a sinner.
"There is no one righteous, not even one ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:10,23. (See Romans 5:8; 6:23.)

Ask God's forgiveness.
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

No one is perfect and no one ever will be until the day you enter Heaven's gates. The Bible tells us that we are born sinners and we will die sinners. Our only salvation is in Christ.

B. Believe in Jesus
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (See John 14:6.)

Become a child of God by receiving Christ.
"To all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12 (See Revelation 3:20.)

Believing in someone you can't see or have talk back to you physically is what we call Faith! Faith is believing in something you can't see or touch and yet you still believe. We believe in Faith that Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to Earth to die for our sins, that we may have eternal life with Him when we die.

C. Confess that Jesus is your Lord.
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (See verse 10.)

The Bible tells us that if we are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of us. Don't be afraid to tell others that you are a born-again Christian-it will make the demons shake in their boots!!!

You may have heard the phrase "born-again" Christian but didn't know what it meant. It's simple really. When you ask Christ into your heart to become your Lord and Savior, you are "born-again." It's a new birth so to speak. The old heart passes away and you start anew with God. When you ask for forgiveness of your sins, He wipes the slate perfectly clean as though they never happened. That's born-again eternal love!!!
